WEEK 7-CANCEL PLAN TO SET UP INTERNET FILTER FOR PORN

Kuala Lumpur - The Malaysian government has cancelled a short-lived plan to install a filter to block pornographic websites, following criticisms that the move was a blow to internet freedom, news reports said Thursday. The about-turn comes barely a week after Information, Communication and Culture Minister Rais Yatim announced that the government was already in the process of selecting an internet filtering system to block pornographic sites.

In my opinion,I dont understand what are the Malaysian government trying to prove?Do you think that existing criminal laws just will be good enough to filter the pornography. What a joke?If Malaysian government didnt take serious action or steps, how we can filter the pornography?Isnt it ridiculous?

China governmnet they have their own internet fiiltering system for pornography..Why dont Malaysia practise and take example from China?China also one of the ASEAN countries and they are very progressive and move ahead compare to Malaysia.

CHANGES ARE VERY IMPORTANT.PLS MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE PORNOGRAPHY!

We as Malaysians are rich with our cultures and I believe that our religions itself told us to lead a ethical life in order to progress in our life path.I hope Malaysian government will take serious action about the above matter for the goodness of the country and also for Malaysian citizen.
